Twin loss story

Was just messing around on my computer and found your site. I am a 51 yr. old male who lost my identical twin brother due to a car wreck 30 yrs. ago. The years that followed were hell. I turned to alcohol and drugs. I did not grieve, but tried to prove that I could be both of us. I caved in! 17 yrs after Joe's death I knew I couldn't go on. I joined A.A.and have been sober for 12 yrs. using the 12 steps and meeting other twins in the program who had gone through the exact same experiences. I have allowed myself to go through the grieving process, and turn the whole experience into helping others. I now have a wonderful full life. It took some time, growth, and a lot of understanding friends. Hope this can be of help to some one.

Thanks, Gene Gallagher
