I am currently at my 26th week of a triplet pregnancy. Do you have any nutritional advice for the last 6-8 weeks? I'm 5'10" tall and have gained approx. 60lbs. Thank you, Lennea

Congratulations on your pregnancy. It sounds as if you are doing well. You will have less and less capacity for food as your pregnancy progresses and the babies grow to push against your stomach. Eat small, nutritious meals and snacks often. Don't waste your calories on poor foods. See your doctor regularly so he can check the babies' weight gains. Your Dr. is the best gage for appropriate weight gain for you. Most triplets are born about week 32-33 although the longer they can stay 'in' the better. You are doing very well

Why do you have margarine in your menu? It is full of unhealthy hydrogenated oils. Why start off life with trans fatty acids? Butter, ghee or olive oil is better. Are you familiar with the studies regarding omega 3's lower risk of prematurity? Why not add some walnuts?

Hi, thanks for your comments. This Guide was prepared by a Nutritionist working with MB families in a local hospital and therefore specifically geared for multiple births. I have no doubt that things change, seemingly sometimes depending on wind direction. No, I am not familiar with these studies. With all there is to do around multiple births issues, one has to be careful not to overextend. It is also quite impossible to know all topics in depth. I do try, however, to make sure that when articles are uploaded, they are correct and approved by the corresponding specialists in that area.
